so i downloaded and watched this movie the other morning, and i must say, either im not getting the comedic genius of the whole thing, or that was the stupidest movie i have ever seen. what the hell was it supposed to be? there was no resolution, there was no real plot. it was like an episode of seinfeld, without the humor, cleverness, character development or kramer. it was just. nonsense.
i mean, parts were funny, in a van-wilder-guy-shitting-in-the-trash-can, low brow kind of way. but this was by no means the masterpiece it was made out to be. this was garbage.

last night it snowed a-friggin-gain. i like snow, but this is getting ridiculous. i had to clear at least an inch from my driveway.
and ive got this....customer.
this....bitch....calls in and complains that she fell trying to get her paper on her driveway, so i should porch it until the weather improves. so let me get this straight. you didn't shovel your driveway (she isnt elderly btw, she has a shitload of teenage kids), so now you want me to risk a broken hip to get your paper safely up on the porch? do you realize how much i get paid per paper, toss, tube or porch? $.06. 6 cents woman. im not shuffling up your driveway for 6 cents.
on top of that i get a complaint, please insure that customer has a tv guide and all circulars in paper every sunday. um. excuse me? you expect me to friggin check your paper? what if everyone decided they wanted that? thatd be like another hour a day.
i hate you gilford park press subscribers. i hate you with the fire of a thousand suns.

woooo. i got wifi working on my laptop again. yayayayaya. took a bunch of tinkering and a few how-to/faq/guides, but it finally works. apparently i didnt realize the difference between the DWL-650 model and the model i have DWL-650+ (model of the wireless card), is a huge one. two different chipsets. thus i was trying to get the non-+ to work, when i had the +. so yeah.
none of this makes sense to most of you, but those who do get wtf im saying, you know that feeling. the, ive-been-tinkering-for-hours-and-omg-look-it-works euphoria that is coming over me right now.
i am teh uber nerd.

guh. im so sick i cant even think. i look like i was just in a fist fight. my right eyeball is like blood red and mostly closed, im coughing like ive got lung cancer, im sneezing, my whole body aches, im tired all the time. my father brought home some kind of mutant strain of superflu that just ripped through the house like a wildfire. im sorta nervous about this pinkeye thing, i read it can cause blindness if its left untreated. i can't be blind. the blind are courageous.

so i may have to break my non-doctor streak. something like 12 years ive avoided the dreaded MDs.
sigh.
it was a good run. :-(

| racism rant (ajayl.com repost) |
[Oct. 21st, 2004|04:39 pm] |
a post commenting on a yahoo news report prompted this rant, on a topic which has been weighing on my mind for quite some time.
read said post here
at any rate. i have said before that there are some concepts, while I don't agree with, I can see the logic in. I can understand, I can grasp, that someone may think that the war in Iraq has been a waste, or that Vanilla Sky was a good movie. I don't share these views, but I get the concept. I cannot, however, understand how anyone can think one race superior to another. That continues to elude me. I've listened to people babel on about black people, or Jews, and I just can't wrap my brain around the whole idea.
The thing that strikes me as ironic is the people that I have found to be the most racist, are always religious too. Always, without fail, if you ask a racist person if they believe in God, they'll reply with a resounding "yes". This boggles me further. Where exactly does the white power crap fit in with the whole, Christ dying on the cross for everyone idea? Care to explain that one to me? Of course, they never can. I question these people further, and they rarely have any reason for their hate. If they do, it's always a broad brush type deal. Like, "oh well when I was in my twenties, a group of black people broke my car windows" "They're all like that" or "Those Jews, they're all cheap, every last one of them".
For some reason though, the generalizations don't carry over to whites.
I don't get it. |
